FamilyTable Terms of Service

Effective Date: March 13, 2026  |  Last Updated: October 22, 2026

Key Points (Plain English Summary)

You must be at least 13 years old to use FamilyTable. Users under 18 need a parent or guardian's permission.

Family accounts share data. When you join a family group, every member can see and edit the shared inventory, recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists.

Your recipes and content belong to you. We do not claim ownership of the recipes, meal plans, or other content you create.

AI features are helpful but not perfect. Receipt scanning, photo analysis, and barcode lookup may produce inaccurate results. Always review and confirm AI-generated results before relying on them.

FamilyTable is not medical or nutritional advice. Our meal suggestions and inventory tracking are for convenience only.

You can delete your account at any time. See Section 13 for details.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the FamilyTable mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and North of Irving LLC, DBA NOI DEV ("we," "us," "our," or "FamilyTable"). Please read them carefully.

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use FamilyTable. If you are under the age of 13, you may not use the App.

2.2 Users Under 18

If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you may only use FamilyTable with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By allowing a minor to use the App, the parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on the minor's behalf and accepts responsibility for the minor's activity within the App.

Account holders under 18 cannot use the AI features (Chat, photo and receipt scanning, and recipe import) or start a family; they join a family with an invite code. These features turn on in the month the account holder turns 18, based on the birth month and year given at signup.

2.3 Parental Responsibility

Parents and guardians who create family member profiles for children within the household are responsible for:

2.4 Capacity

By using the App, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To use FamilyTable, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and creating a password. You agree to:

3.2 One Account Per Person

Each individual may maintain only one FamilyTable account. Creating multiple accounts for the purpose of circumventing restrictions, abusing features, or any other reason is prohibited.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your account.

4. Family Accounts

4.1 Shared Household Data

FamilyTable is designed for families and households to share meal planning data collaboratively. When you create or join a family group, you understand and agree that:

4.2 Family Group Creator Responsibilities

The person who creates a family group is responsible for:

4.3 Family Join Codes

Family join codes are temporary and expire after 24 hours. You are responsible for sharing join codes only with individuals you intend to grant access to your family's shared data. Do not share join codes publicly or with untrusted individuals.

4.4 Family Member Roles

Family member roles (such as Mom, Dad, Daughter, Son, Grandma, Grandpa, or Other) are informational labels only. Roles do not confer different permissions or access levels. All family members have equal access to shared data regardless of their assigned role.

4.5 Data Shared Within the Family

By joining a family group, you consent to your family-related activity (such as recipes you add, ratings you provide, and inventory changes you make) being visible to all other members of that family group.

5. Acceptable Use

5.1 Permitted Use

FamilyTable is provided for personal, non-commercial household meal planning and food management purposes. You may use the App to:

6.2 License to FamilyTable

By submitting User Content to the App, you grant FamilyTable a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, store, display, reproduce, and process your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the App to you and your family group. This license exists only for as long as your content remains on the platform and terminates when you delete your content or account.

6.4 No Obligation to Monitor

We are not obligated to monitor, review, or edit User Content. However, we reserve the right to remove or disable access to any User Content that violates these Terms.

7. AI Features Disclaimer

7.1 AI-Powered Features

FamilyTable uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to provide certain features, including:

7.2 Accuracy of AI Results

AI-powered features are provided on an "as-is" basis. While we strive for accuracy, AI technologies have inherent limitations. You acknowledge and agree that:

7.3 User Verification Required

All AI-generated results are presented for your review and confirmation before any changes are made to your inventory or other data. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated results before confirming them. FamilyTable is not responsible for errors that result from confirming inaccurate AI output without adequate review.

7.4 Barcode Scanning

Barcode scanning relies on the Open Food Facts database, a community-maintained, open-source product database. Product information may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. You should verify product details, particularly allergen information, by checking the physical product label.

7.5 No Liability for AI Errors

FamilyTable shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or adverse outcomes resulting from reliance on AI-generated information, including but not limited to incorrect inventory data, missed allergens, inaccurate nutritional information, or spoiled food due to incorrect expiry tracking.

8. Health and Dietary Disclaimer

FamilyTable is a meal planning and household food management tool. The App does not provide medical advice, nutritional counseling, or dietary therapy. Meal suggestions, recipe information, and ingredient data provided by the App are for informational and convenience purposes only.

8.2 Allergy and Dietary Restriction Warning

While the App allows users to input dietary restrictions and allergies as preferences, these features are designed to help filter and organize suggestions. They are not a guarantee that suggested meals or recipes are safe for individuals with food allergies, intolerances, or medical dietary requirements.

If you or any member of your household has food allergies, intolerances, or medical dietary restrictions:

8.3 Food Safety

FamilyTable provides expiry date tracking and inventory management features as organizational tools. The App is not a food safety monitoring system. You are responsible for independently assessing the freshness and safety of food items, following proper food storage and handling practices, and not relying solely on the App's expiry date tracking.

8.4 No Liability for Health Outcomes

FamilyTable shall not be liable for any adverse health outcomes, allergic reactions, foodborne illness, or other health-related consequences resulting from the use of the App.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 FamilyTable IP

The App, including its design, code, features, graphics, user interface, logos, trademarks, and all related intellectual property, is owned by North of Irving LLC, DBA NOI DEV and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9.2 User Content Ownership

As stated in Section 6, you retain ownership of the content you create within the App.

11.2 No Endorsement or Warranty

FamilyTable does not endorse, warrant, or assume responsibility for any third-party services, their accuracy, availability, or reliability. Third-party services may change or become unavailable without notice. We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by your reliance on third-party services.

12.2 Modifications to the App

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any feature or functionality of the App at any time.

12.3 Offline Functionality

Certain App features may be available offline through locally cached data. However, offline data may not reflect the most recent changes made by other family members. Full functionality requires an active internet connection.

13. Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by using the account deletion feature within the App or by contacting us at familytable_support@gmail.com. Upon account deletion:

13.2 Termination by FamilyTable

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, we believe your account has been compromised, we are required to do so by law, or we discontinue the App.

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to access and use the App ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, and 18) shall survive.

14. Limitation of Liability

14.1 Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY.

14.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL NORTH OF IRVING LLC, DBA NOI DEV, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, ANY INACCURACY IN AI-GENERATED CONTENT, ANY ADVERSE HEALTH OUTCOME RELATED TO FOOD ITEMS TRACKED OR SUGGESTED THROUGH THE APP, UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR DATA, OR ANY OTHER MATTER RELATING TO THE APP.

14.3 Cap on Liability

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO FAMILYTABLE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100.00).

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless North of Irving LLC, DBA NOI DEV, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of your use of the App, violation of these Terms, your User Content, or any dietary, health, or food safety decisions you make based on information provided by the App.

16. Dispute Resolution

16.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal legal claim, you agree to contact us at familytable_support@gmail.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally within thirty (30) days.

16.2 Binding Arbitration

If the dispute is not resolved informally, any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the State of Nebraska, United States of America. Judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction.

16.3 Class Action Waiver

YOU AND FAMILYTABLE AGREE THAT EACH PARTY MAY ONLY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.

16.4 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Nebraska, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

17. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide notice through an in-app notification, email, or prominent notice within the App. Your continued use after the effective date of any modified Terms constitutes acceptance.

18. General Provisions

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and FamilyTable regarding the App. If any provision is found unenforceable, it shall be limited to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent.
